Keno Tips

Keno is your basic mixed lottery and bingo hybrid game. This game has proven quite popular online in the last few years, although it has actually been on the internet far longer than that. Keno is difficult to win via online strategies.

Since it is a lottery based game, how can you possible influence things in your favor? Well, these won’t guarantee success, but how about trying these handy keno tips?

1. Selecting your keno numbers

Just like lottery tickets, everybody has their own special ways of choosing keno numbers. Some people like to play birthdays, others dates or numbers which are significant to them in one way or another. Some people just like to roll the dice and let fate decide what numbers they are given, by selecting a random ticket. Whatever way you decide to pick your numbers is fine, but let us say this.

If you pick numbers based on those which are important to you, and you know those numbers very well; you must keep playing them. You’ll be kicking yourself if you change your numbers, only for your original numbers to come up. If you pick your own numbers, stick with them.

2. Play as many numbers as possible

You should always try and play as many numbers as possible. Generally speaking, this gives you more of a chance to win a round of keno. Should you decide to guess on just a single number, then you are playing a long-odds game. Sure, it pays nicely, but you’re lowering your chances of success. Play with more numbers. They will be worth less, but at least you’ve got a decent likelihood of coming away with something.

If your keno game allows you to pick 5, 10 or 15 numbers, always go for 15. This won’t guarantee success, but it changes the game from one of high variance, to one of low variance. You’ll win less, but more often.

3. Sequenced numbers don’t guarantee a win

A lot of keno players believe that if they play sequenced numbers, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, then they will have a good chance of landing their numbers. They base this on the notion that it would be unlikely for the keno game to skip all of those numbers without hitting one of them. It sounds like fine logic, except that it isn’t really.

Keno numbers are drawn at random, so any numbers could be drawn, or in this case, not drawn. Think of it like a lottery ticket. You wouldn’t feel right about playing 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on a lottery ticket, would you? But why not? You have just as much chance with those numbers as with any others. If you think about it logically; playing with sequenced numbers makes no difference to the game.

There are no cheats or tricks to win at keno; only a few handy hints to increase your chances of winning and make your feel more comfortable with the numbers you have chosen. That doesn’t make it any less of a great game, though!
