Roulette Tips

A lot of people like to just play roulette for the outside bets, although there are other ways that you can bet. There are also a few handy roulette tips that you can incorporate to make your game run smoother, too.

Roulette is entirely a game of chance, as you need very little skill to play it. What you do need though, is a good knowledge of the probability of the different bets coming off.

1. Know your bets

Sure, you can just play outside bets (red/black or odds/evens) if you wish. But, if you wish to stand a chance of winning good money, then you should know the other types of bets that are open to you. This can be a lengthy process, but you will get there in the end. Learn about inside bets; bets like splits, streets, corners, as well as other outside bets, such as columns and dozens.

2. Probability is a factor

Once you have learnt what the different types of bets are constituted of, it is time for a lesson in probability. Some bets are going to come up more frequently than others. Learn about the basic probability of each bet, and make sure you have enough chips to be able to sustain those bets.

If you’re wagering on bets that are going to appear less frequently but that pay more, make sure you have a wad big enough to sustain that. If you’re betting on those bets that appear more frequently but pay less, you won’t need such a big balance.

3. Roulette variants that may suit you

Roulette is no different than any other online casino game, in that there are now several variants. These variants may or may not suit your needs. If you are in a rush, then Mini Roulette may be better suited to you, especially if you aren’t that comfortable with the different types of bets or their probabilities yet. You may also choose to play progressive roulette, or high-stakes roulette, if you are something of a wizard on the wheel.

4. Double zero, or zero?

American Roulette is played with a double zero (0 and 00), whilst European Roulette is played with just a single zero (0). Since landing on zero usually causes you to instantly lose your bet,and European Roulette has only one zero, it has a slightly lower house edge than American Roulette. If you want to turn things slightly in your favour, play European Roulette.

5. Watch out for those French rules

French Roulette may feature the En Prison, and/or La Partage rules. These can beneficial to players, as they also revolve around the zero spot, and could see you landing some of your money back on the zero spot. French Roulette will also feature different names for the types of bets. If you are going to play French Roulette; take the time to learn the names of these bets, and how the different rules work.

Roulette is not that difficult to learn how to play. Once you know the types of bets and probability, as well as the rule changes, you are pretty much good to go.
